Starting July 1, 2020, Colorado-based hemp businesses may sell their Industrial Hemp Products in medical and retail marijuana dispensaries. Prior to the transfer of your products to a dispensary, you must submit samples to a Colorado licensed marijuana testing facility for all required tests.
Industrial Hemp Product Sampling Procedures. Absent sampling and testing standards established by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment for the sampling and testing of Industrial Hemp Product, a Person Transferring an Industrial Hemp Product to a Licensee pursuant to the Marijuana Code and these Rules shall comply with the sampling and testing standards set forth in these 4-100 Series Rules – Regulated Marijuana Testing Program and as required by these Rules.4-110 – Regulated Marijuana Testing Program: Sampling Procedures – page 177
Industrial Hemp Products require the following tests on every production batch:
- Microbial Contamination
- Heavy Metals
- Residual Solvents – (if a solvent was used in the production)
Can I sell my smokable hemp in a dispensary?
Prohibited Items. A Retail Marijuana Store is prohibited from selling or giving away any consumable product that is not a Retail Marijuana Product or an Industrial Hemp Product including, but not limited to, cigarettes or tobacco products, alcohol beverages, and food products or non-alcohol beverages that are not Retail Marijuana Product.6-110 – Retail Marijuana Sales: General Limitations or Prohibited Acts – page 282
